Movie night!

Well my friends and I were going to watch a Mexican movie so we decided to get Tizoc... yeah random and weird.....

But when we were going to put it inside the player we realized there was another movie already (I am renting a second hand place) so we decided to try it out.... the result?? An indian/Bollywood/Cartoon/Mythological/strange thing called the Return of Hanuman.... despite all the randomnes... it was good =)

Rain

I just realized how hard is it to get a good rain shot.... I was not successful at all

The point is.. it's raining.. A LOT!!

Strong winds, hail, lots of rain and monsoon clouds!!! I like it as long as I have electicity and internet!!

Earthquake

Well.... definitely not the first earthquake I feel, but it is the first I get to experience in Mexico City, and the first one I am all by myself and in a 4th floor. Wow... lots of firsts....but the most important and strange one: The first one I experience while I am sleeping. 2:22am!!

It was so weird... my bed was moving, the doors were squeaking and a chair or something with wheels couldn't stop moving from one side of the other of the building in the floor above me... Well, it was a 6.4 earthquake but let¿s say that it was an interesting experience... All these noises and my bed moving woke me up!! And it took me like other 2 hours to fall asleep again =S

Football fever

One of the things going on in this world cup is the FIFA fan fest in downtown Mexico City. I have been there twice and it's kind of fun. Downside, no shade... so I always feel horrible and tired after being too much time under the sun. This time I watched the USA - Ghana game. I guess CONCACAF lost one of their hopes..... Now well see tomorrow what happen with us =(

metro

Well, I took the metro in Mexico City. Not that it is that bad but I had always been scared of taking it. But out of need I had to. I need to save money and taking the metro helped me to save good money in parking and gas. It is still scary, I am not going to lie. Everyone would say I am overreacting but I didn't grow up learning that the metro was a good place to be... I don't bring any valuables and hug my bag as if someone was coming after it. It is crowded and the people is... mmmm... well.... let's say that it is not the kind of people I am used to hang out with. But hey, I am saving money, right? That should be the most important factor right?

Sorry I couldn't take a picture but I was not brave enought to take my camera out =S

to my friend Ricardo

Ok, I am at work but I am super exhausted and my cases are not getting any solution soon. So instead of falling asleep I am procrastinating... =S

I decided to dedicate this video to my friend Ricardo who has found a job here in Mexico City and he'll move to the big city.... But the fun part is that he has lived in the North of the country for a long time so he'll have to pack all his stuff in his car and move here. Just like in the video hahaha.

how mexico is celebrating the victory against france

lunch for the week

I am probably the only person my age in the whole world that does this in order to feed himself during the week: Ricotta, grana and spinnaci cannelloni. Don't  they look good? I made 2 sets with 2 different sauces and I discovered that I prepare the best béchamel sauce ever!!

celebrating

As a tradition (one that I don't encourage), whenever Mexico wins a soccer match people go and celebrate it at the monument for the Mexican Independence... Come on people... get a life!!

1. Sooo many people celebrating...

2. Intervention from the police...

there are only few cars in town

One of the disadvantages of having a window looking over Reforma is that you get to see the traffic. Very very interesting.... Anyone wants to guess how this roundabout works?

radio

Finally I found a good radio station. I had my brother's CD's in my car but I got tired of his music. So I switched to radio.... After finding "news", romantic music and other tacky prgrams, I finally found music from the 80's... And I love it!!

saturday morning

Well, it's saturday!! Finally!! I get to do laundry, iron my trousers and rest.. i so need it!!

Today I am also installing programs in my laptop and customizing it for my personal use.

Meanwhile during breakfast I realized how Mexican is my food. This was my breakfast, but somewhere else in the world, this could be dinner =)

Cultural shock...

Well, I don't get to experience many cultural shocks in my home country... well, maybe I do, I got shocked when I saw the large amount of fat people, and the lack of civility when driving.

Now I experienced something. I realized I live in Gayland!! really, it is so weird!! I am not homophobic but it is not very nice to be observed at the gym or to see a large amount of male prostitutes at Gay St. outside my job...  Mmmm, maybe the disadvantages of living in a large city. Intersting because I always thought that Mexico was a very conservative society....
